Graz did this bit of research on the genesis of the MOAT:
This was the first time the commenters got a bit carried away posting......at one time it had 451 comments that were posted in the span of 32 hours......a record that has been surpassed, but I don't remember which post that was on....bad thing is, many posts were stripped...including a bunch from MeL....so towards the end, it looked like I was talking to myself.....not that I haven't done that before....;-{)

PARTING THOUGHTS
We're thinking about making this a blog devoted exclusively to the topic of whether or not this blog is working.
But anyway, we're done for today. In an effort to cut down on Comment Bloat, maybe it would be a good idea if you overnight commenters who are inclined to post a LOT of conversational message-board-y comments would consider posting here, under this post. Or not! God forbid we would ever TELL anybody what to do, here on the Internet.
Anyway, good night, unless something else happens.

Ahhh...the memories.....
